INTRODUCTION
The manual is intended to guide the trainer to facilitate sessions in Basic Communication Skills for visually impaired students/ candidates. The content in this manual would enhance their knowledge on English Language, help them apply the communication skills (oral and written) learnt during the training and later in their professional life.
It consists of exercises to improve listening, speaking, reading and writing skills. They include general vocabulary, grammar topics with exercises, sentence formation, listening and narrating stories, passages, one-minute speeches, homophones, homographs, homonyms, synonyms, antonyms, riddles, case studies, report writing, email correspondence (with colleagues, seniors, candidates), writing notice, introduction to content writing, scenario-based conversations, idioms, complex words and phrases, contractions, etc.
It will be useful for those who have a quest to learn the language. The scenario-based learning helps in the application of English language correctly in the workplace and also in their social circles. It is meant for learners who have studied English Language till high school.
The is for both instructor-led and self-learning setting. The fundamental design is scenario-based passages, articles, stories, etc. Each lesson has a passage for reading/listening, vocabulary and written assignments. The lesson content depends heavily on verbal inputs by the facilitator both on onsite and online platforms.
The manual includes stories, narratives and videos/ video links as well to support the student in the learnerning process.
