Description
Impact is not only something you measure AFTER your program, but something you envision before a program is designed. This 2-day workshop is designed to show you how you can build a strategic, compelling narrative of change around your impact data and take you through the steps of building a measurement framework to support that narrative.
August 19, Day 1 : "Getting your Impact Narrative Right - using a participatory outcomes approach" with Dr Archana Pillai.
Social startups often face challenges in being able to communicate the impact of their work to different stakeholders. Oftentimes, we hear founders say "I know we are making a change, but how do we tell donors it's happening." Donors follow standard industry metrics around outputs, revenues, numbers or improvements in percentages. This session will teach you how to build a data driven culture within the organization to enable better learning of the work you do and improve your impact narrative. It will also talk about how to communicate behavioral changes and other subtle aspects of outcomes that may not easily be captured in standard metrics.
About the Speaker : Dr. Archana is an academic turned development sector professional, working on enhancing measurability and accountability in social organizations. As the Founder & Director of 86B Research and Advisory Services LLP, her team provides bespoke services for Monitoring & Evaluation and Organizational Strategy through courses, workshops, assessments and building Impact Practice for organisations.

August 20 : Day 2 "Building the Impact Framework for your organization" with Dr Vijay Venugopal
As the Founder of a nonprofit, your understanding of the kind of impact you want to make evolves with time and experience on the ground. Most of us are dealing with complex, multidimensional social issues and it throws up challenges in defining and proving your impact. In such scenario, a robust impact framework brings clarity within the organization about what we are working towards and at the same time, helps other stakeholders understand what we are doing and why. This is crucial not only for raising funds, but for the nonprofit to stay on track to create intended impact. In this session, Dr Vijay, a founder himself, takes us through the process of how he built the impact framework for his organization and how you can do the same for your NGO.
